ILAM, March 20: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the leaders who left the party after winning the election from UML should resign from the post of people's representative.

Addressing a program organized in Ilam constituency 1, Oli said that some people's representatives were still clinging to their posts without any shame despite leaving the party after winning the election under the UML banner, hinting at Jhalanath Khanal.

“There are talks of the box with the sun sign remaining empty in the sunrise district. I will not say anything now. The people will decide whose ballot boxes will be empty in the upcoming election,” Oli said, replying to a statement made by Khanal earlier. Leader Khanal had said that the UML’s ballot boxes should be kept empty in the upcoming election.

Chairman Oli also said that the CPN-UML will not form an alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC). “There is a five-party coalition government at the moment. Nobody dares to contest with the UML alone. UML does not want any five or seven party alliance and will fight the election on its own.” He also claimed that the UML is the only force that can drive the country toward development.
