Taking the Chairmanship of University Assembly of the Tribhuvan University (TU), Prime Minister Bhattarai, also the chancellor of TU, said that an education policy, where there is access of poor and backward classes of people in the society, should be adopted as development of education is the main basis of national development.[break]
The Prime Minister also urged the incumbent leadership of the TU to move forward the TU in timely manner.
Stating that other universities will be established in the country as per the need of the time, he said the TU should provide support to other universities as a national university.
Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of TU, Prof. Dr Hira Bahadur Maharjan, said TU education has been standardised as per the time.
Maharjan stressed on the need of positive thinking and support of all bodies concerned to glorify the academic image of TU.
Rector Prof. Gunanidhi Neupane presented the 51th annual report in the assembly for approval.
Likewise, Registrar Dr. Chandramani Paudel, presented proposed programmes of the current fiscal year 2069/70 BS and estimate of income and expenditure in the assembly for approval.
Paudel talked about TU´s contribution for inclusive development and progressive change of the nation through maximum utilization of available natural and human resources.
The assembly amended the regulations related to TU Teachers and Employees Service-2050 BS and TU Organization and Educational Administration Regulations-2050 BS.The assembly also approved different nominations made earlier.
