Posts of six doctors except medical superintendent are vacant for the past few years in the hospital. Patients have been facing problems in treatment due to lack of one gynecologist, one paediatrician and four medical officers in the Hospital.
Patients have been compelled to go to different places including Bharatpur, Birgunj and Kathmandu for the treatment, according to Family Planning Officer at the District Health Office, Makawanpur, Dr. Ganesh Paudel.
The Hospital has 100 beds. The Hetauda Hospital Development Committee has now assigned three doctors on contract in the Hospital, Chairman of the Committee, Prakash Paudel, said.
Five intern doctors have been deputed at the Hospital from Kathmandu for the past few months but the problem in the hospital is same as the interns also go to other hospitals on deputation, according to the District Health Office.
The Hospital said Chief at the Office and Medical Superintendent at the Hospital, Dr Sanjeev Singh has been providing maternity services in the Hospital.
Singh told RSS that speedy initiative is taken through the District Administration Office, Makawanpur and the District Development Committee, Makawanpur, at the Department of Health Services of the Ministry of Health and Population to send specialist doctors as per the vacancies and other doctors at the earliest.
