Partying with Prabal Gurung: ICB Collection Launched

New York. The ominously dark clouds over the city on Thursday night occasionally lit up with lightening as rain poured down. But that could hardly dampen the energy at the party hosted to celebrate Prabal Gurung’s collection for ICB at Barney’s Co-Op.



In December, Prabal had been appointed the Head Designer for ICB. The position had been previous held by Michael Kors and Viktor + Rolf. [break]



“The potential of the ICB brand in the US and globally is a priority for Onward Kashiyama,” Akinori Baba - president of Onward Kashiyama, which owns ICB, had said at the time. With Prabal’s first collection, the company couldn’t have hoped for more: by February, when the collections were previewed, the iconic New York fashion retailer Barney’s had offered to carry ICB in their American stores.



Prabal’s work with ICB is in addition to his own Prabal Gurung label. For this collection, his first for ICB, he has designed more than 300 looks. What made the cut? Log on to Barneys.com and search ICB to find out.
