KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Leaders of different political parties have said that Nepal visit of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee was successful and left a positive impact.
At a program organized by Reporters' Club Nepal here on Saturday, CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal said that exchange of visit of top leaders was very positive from the political point of view.
"Indian President Pranab Mukherjee's Nepal visit has helped take bilateral relations to a new height," he said.
Rawal further said that the government carried out activities against diplomatic practice declaring public holiday on the day the Indian President arrived for the visit.
The CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman expressed the belief that the Nepal Congress would take right decision on the impeachment motion against Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki, registered by the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) in the Parliament.
Similarly, Nepali Congress central committee member, Min Bishwokarma, said President Mukherjee's visit has removed the bitterness seen in the bilateral relations. He said, "Indian president Mukherjee's Nepal visit has further strengthened Nepal-India relations."
Leader Bishwokarma said that there was some weakness of the government in other management aspects including transport facility in Kathmandu valley during Mukherjee's Nepal visit.

Likewise, Chief Political Advisor of Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chakrapani Khanal (Baldev), claimed that the three-day Nepal visit of Indian President, Mukherjee, was completely successful.
He said, "The visit has removed all types of sourness seen in Nepal-India relations in recent period. It was very successful in removing this."
Khanal said that the government's decision of declaring public holiday on the day of arrival of Indian president Mukherjee and problems faced by the general public during the visit was unnecessarily made into a controversy and added that it was done for enhancing Nepal's dignity in the international arena.
Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Anil Jha said that the Indian President's Nepal visit was fruitful.
Jha said, "The visit helped in taking the bilateral relations to a new height and increase mutual understanding."
Stating that the said remark made by President Mukherjee expressing support towards constitution of Nepal was baseless, he said the Indian President only enquired about Nepal's constitution and problems surfaced in the Tarai-Madhes. RSS
