Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha who arrived in Madi, Chitwan in connection with meeting with the party workers said this while speaking with the media persons on Thursday.[break]
He also urged one and all not to have any doubt regarding the four-point agreement reached between the UCPN (Maoist) and the Madhesi Front at the time of the formation of the present government.
A faction in the UCPN (Maoist) and the main opposition parties have protested the agreement terming it anti-national.
Regarding the provision of recruiting 10,000 Madhesi youth in the Nepal Army contained in the four-point agreement, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said the spirit of the agreement is not taking 10,000 Madhesi youth in the national army immediately.
He added that only few number of Madhesi youths would be recruited in the Nepal Army for the time being to put to an end the discriminatory attitude towards the Madhesi community in the past.
Similarly, DPM Shrestha while speaking in an interaction with the people in Gorkha, said that the government is working seriously for taking the peace and constitution writing to conclusion.
Responding to queries by the general public at Hotel Bisauni in Gorkha, the deputy prime minister said the government will not be entangled in petty business.
During the interaction, the members of the general public suggested the government to work towards strengthening the diplomatic relations with the developed countries and to explore the job opportunities and better job conditions for the Nepali youths abroad.
In a separate reference, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha who is also the Vice-Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), said although there are ideological differences in the party, the party will settle this amicably through discussions.
He said the four-point agreement reached by his party with the Madhesi Front could be discussed again.
