Parties should not be divided in policy making: Thapa

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the political parties should not be divided while making laws and rules.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the political parties should not be divided while making laws and rules.


Addressing a press program on gender policy on Tuesday, he said that the parties in parliament should stand together while making policies and rules. He said that there is a need for policy making to solve the problems of common citizens and emphasized that all political parties should study and research intensively to solve the problems.

He also said that it is necessary for the relevant bodies to give necessary suggestions and consultations to the political parties and the government for policy making from the beginning. He said “In Nepal, due to the tendency of not saying anything at the initial stage but putting forward various arguments at the end of the policymaking, so some acts and laws could not be amended and new laws formulated.


Thapa said that if all the sectors keep informing the government about the possible solutions to the problems in their areas, then the policymakers can take their opinions more strongly and seriously.
