Parties request president for roundtable conference

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: A meeting of different political parties on Tuesday has requested the President to make initiatives for holding a roundtable conference to settle the disputed issues.



The meeting held at the central office of CPN (ML) stressed the need of creating atmosphere in which all the political parties can take part in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election. [break]



The meeting has stressed on a free, fair and impartial election.A six-point joint press statement issued after the meeting has emphasised on making maximum efforts to involve all the parties especially those associated with the decade-long armed conflict in the November 19 election and called for holding roundtable conference or all–party meeting to for the same.



Among those signing in the press statement are CPN (ML) General Secretary CP Mainali, CPN (Masal) General Secretary Mohan Bikram Singh, Janamorcha Nepal General Secretary Sadhya Bahadur Bhandari, CPN (Marxist) politburo member Achyut Raj Gyawali, Rastriya Janamorcha central member Ram Prakash Puri, Samajbadi Janata Party Chairman Hikmat Bahadur Gyawali, Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party central member Mani Acharya, Janata Dal Nepal chairman Ram Kumar Ojha, CPN (Unified) politburo member Mohammed Abbas and CPN (Ekata Revolutionary)´s spokesperson Himlal Puri.
