Parties submitted a memorandum to the prime minister through District Administration Office in Baglung, held a protest rally in Kushma today while called Maygdi banda on Friday.[break]
A committee comprising 1,280 members has been formed headed by pro-royalist Ganesh Bahadur Gurung to receive Shah.
The former monarch is scheduled to visit various religious sites in Kaski, Myagdi, Parbat, Baglung, Tanahun and Syangja districts. He will stay in Fishtail Hotel, Pokhar, for five days during his trip.
Shah is scheduled to visit different temples including the Galeshwor temple in Myagdi, the Kalika temple in Baglung, the Gayatri temple in Prabat, the Dhaneshwor Mahadev temple in Syangja and the Bindhyabasini temple in Pokhara.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) cadres of Pokhara have been holding corner meetings to protest Shah’s visit.
Maoist cadres warn against ex-king´s tour

POKHARA: Local cadres of the ruling UCPN (Maoist) have warned of disrupting ex-king Gyanendra Shah´s planned ´religious´ tour of the western region beginning Thursday and urged the government not to provide security to him.
They have also threatened to protest against the government led by their own party if ex-king Shah was provided security during the tour. Former king Shah is set to arrive in Pokhara this afternoon for his week-long religious tour of the various districts of Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones. [break]
Questioning the motive behind Shah’s visit, they held corner meets at various places of Pokhara, on Wednesday.
