Parties holding meeting to finalize mandate of parliamentary probe committee

KATHMANDU, May 19: A meeting of major parties is being held to finalize the mandate of the parliamentary probe committee to investigate the issue of cooperative fraud.

KATHMANDU, May 19: A meeting of major parties is being held to finalize the mandate of the parliamentary probe committee to investigate the issue of cooperative fraud. 


The meeting of the working group, formed to finalize the mandate, is underway from 8:30AM at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

In a meeting held on Saturday, the ruling and opposition parties agreed to form a parliamentary committee to investigate the cooperative case. However, the mandate of the committee was not finalized.


A Task Force has been formed under the leadership of CPN-UML leader and Law Minister Padam Giri to finalize the mandate. The committee includes Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Jeewan Pariyar, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula and Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Shishir Khanal.
