KATHMANDU, July 22: The Good Governance and Monitoring Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has directed all the Commissioners including the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki to appear at the Parliamentary committee office on Sunday.
“A Parliamentary committee meeting held on Friday decided to summon the CIAA officials after the lawmakers in the meeting accused CIAA Chief Karki of protecting the medical mafia,” Mohan Singh Rathor, Chairman of the Good Governance and Monitoring Committee, told Republica Online.
On the 13th day of KC's fast-unto-death, the committee has also decided to form a sub-committee to investigate KC’s demands including the impeachment of Karki and the issue related to conducting the examination at Kathmandu University.
All the Commissioners including Chief Commissioner have been summoned as part of the response to the demands raised by Dr Govinda KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon, who has been staging a fast-unto-death for the last 13 days, demanding reforms in the medical health sector and impeachment of the CIAA Chief Karki .

Most of the lawmakers in the meeting held that Karki has breached his jurisdictions while discharging his duties.
