Parliament sets calendar for winter session

The first day of the parliament is scheduled to begin with the Prime Minister and other top leaders addressing the parliament. On the same day, various ordinances introduced by the government will also be presented in the parliament

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has prepared the calendar for the winter session of the House of Representatives starting from January 31.


According to Mahesh Bartaula, chief whip of the ruling party CPN-UML, the Secretariat has prepared a parliamentary calendar for the meeting to be held from January 31 to February 12.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire carried out discussions with the chief whips and whips of the five major parties to prepare the calendar.


The first day of the parliament is scheduled to begin with the Prime Minister and other top leaders addressing the parliament. On the same day, various ordinances introduced by the government will also be presented in the parliament.


The next meeting is set for February 4. The agenda of that day's meeting is to present the ordinances submitted on the first day for decision. The parliament meetings have also been scheduled for February 5 and 6. Various committee meetings are scheduled for February 7, 8 and 9. Then, the parliament will hold a meeting on February 10, 11, and 12.
