Parliament’s both houses holding meetings today

KATHMANDU, Sep 3: Both houses under the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today (Tuesday) at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar. The Lower House meeting is scheduled for 1 PM, while the Upper House meeting is scheduled for 1:15 PM.

KATHMANDU, Sep 3: Both houses under the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today (Tuesday) at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar. The Lower House meeting is scheduled for 1 PM, while the Upper House meeting is scheduled for 1:15 PM.


In the meetings, Lower House Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Upper House Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal are set to read out the letter received from the President’s Office regarding the verification of the TJ Bill.

Similarly, there is an agenda in both houses to address the questions raised by lawmakers. The Minister for Urban Development, the Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, and the Minister for Water Supply will answer questions in the Lower House, while the Minister for Water Supply and the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation will answer questions in the Upper House. 


The chairman of the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on the Misuse of Cooperative Savings, Surya Bahadur Thapa, will present a proposal regarding the extension of the committee's procedures in today's Lower House meeting.


Additionally, the chairman of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee Ammar Bahadur Thapa will submit the committee’s report on the Nepal University Bill, 2081, and the Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2081, which originated in the National Assembly, during today's Lower House meeting.


Furthermore, in today's Lower House meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel will present a proposal to send the Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081, to the relevant committee for clause-by-clause discussion, while the Financial Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081, will be sent to the relevant committee for clause-wise discussion.


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present the fourth annual report of the Indigenous Nationalities Commission for the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 to the National Assembly.
