Parliament meeting put off on Maoist demand

KATHMANDU, May 9: The parliament meeting scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been put off for Monday.[break]



Parliament secretariat postponed the meeting by putting a notice at the parliament hall as main opposition UCPN (Maoist) corresponded to the secretariat saying the Maoist parliamentarians wouldn´t be able to attend the meeting due to their ongoing protests.



Many of Maoist lawmakers were leading the party´s cadres who picketed Singha Durbar, the central secretariat of the government, throughout the day.



The parliament meeting is scheduled for Monday 3:00 p.m.
