KATHMANDU, March 4: The health condition of former crown prince Paras Shah, who is undergoing treatment at Samitivej Hosptal in Bangkok for the last 14 days, has further improved.

“Patient (Shah) is conscious and has stated to communicate. Since today morning, he has started taking sips of water himself,” the hospital said in a press statement on Monday.[break]

According to the hospital, Paras, who was taken off the ventilator on Sunday, is scheduled to undergo an MRI test, the date of which, however, has not been stated yet.

It added that neurological status of Shah is also scheduled to be reassessed in detail in a few days’ time. The hospital further said Shah also requires prolonged physiotherapy.

Shah regained consciousness on Saturday. Shah was admitted to the Bangkok hospital after he had suffered a massive heart attack on February 19.
