Paras Shah's health further deteriorates

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: The health condition of former crown prince Paras Shah further deteriorated on Saturday after he developed bleeding from stomach, Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital said in the press statement.



Shah underwent endoscopy today, the statement adds. The former royal member has been on ventilator life support. [break]His condition is reported to be very critical.



Shah suffered a major cardiac arrest Tuesday night-- the second since September 2007 -- at the apartment of Sunil Khadka, a Nepali businessman, at Rama 9 in Bangkok, where he has been staying for the last two months.



His wife Himani Shah had arrived in Bangkok on Friday evening and visited him at the ICU.



According to a source, doctors had kept Paras´ body temperature at a lower level and are gradually raising it so as to prevent internal hemmorrhage and organ failure.
