KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Former crown prince Paras Shah returned to the capital amid huge celebrations by his supporters late Friday afternoon.

Shah, who has been booked on a public offence charge in connection with the Tiger Tops Lodge incident, was released on a bail of Rs 10, 000 on Thursday.

He was received by more than 1,500 people gathered on the premises of the Tribhuvan International Airport. The police struggled for nearly half-an-hour to escort Paras to his car. Shah waved to his supporters as the car drove by.

Shah, however, did not call a press conference here as he had earlier announced in Chitwan and Pokhara following his release.
