The “Pani Pani” (water) song is from her third album “Rang”.
“I absolutely love this song because I could feel it, as I love rain myself,” she says, with an expression of wonder in her face. The inclusion of this particular “water” song in her Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT) does prove how much she is in love with this song.

“Composer Satish Singh put in his best efforts to the song, and that also when it was raining,” she says, looking pleased with the coincidences related to the song. She also recalls her six-months-old niece cooling down when the song is played. That adds up to the reasons of her being inclined to the piece of music.
The other favorite is her very first recorded song – “Timro Adhar, Timro Nazar.”
“This song gave me an identity as a singer,” she says, recalling how she wasn’t even sure that she would be an artist in the then unforeseeable future. But through this song, people came to know Nalina Chitrakar as a talented singer, a fact she takes proudly.
“I should never forget that song which made me who I am today,” Chitrakar admits as much.
Talking about the changes in today’s singing trends, she thinks the good singers were those who could sing at those times in the past.
“These days, due to technology, word-to-word recording is possible. So anyone who brings out his albums today may not be somebody to have knowledge of music, or who has quality vocals,” she says, recalling how she has done one-take recordings of her early songs.
But compensating that, according to her, critical listeners are becoming more discerning of good music, and they can distinguish fine compositions from the not-so-good ones.
Well, everything aside, in the meantime, Nalina Chitrakar is planning to bring out her next album this year, and is working very hard on it.
