Pandey to attend Elite Referees Panel course in Malaysia

KATHMANDU: FIFA referee Sudish Pandey left for Malaysia on Tuesday to take part in AFC Elite Referees Panel course scheduled to be held from October 23 to 27. After completing the course, Pandey, 31, will be eligible to officiate at the highest level of international football.



There are currently 76 referees on the Elite Referees Panel. Pandey will become the second Nepali referee to be included in the Elite Referees Panel of AFC after Gyaniraja Shrestha, who retired from refereeing in 2010. [break]



Pandey, however, will become the first referee from Nepal to make it to the panel through exam. Paney´s inclusion in the panel will open the door for two assistant referees and a fourth official in the panel of AFC Elite Assistant Referee and Fourth Official.
