Pandey, Suwal win Thailand trip<br/>NIC Foundation's donation

KATHMANDU, June 28: Pepsi has announced the names of three lucky winners who have won paid trip to Thailand. The winners, Bimala Pandey from Kathmandu and Ratna Kaji Suwal from Bhaktapur, won the four-day trip to Bangkok and Pattaya under Pepsi´s ´Meet the Dream Team´ campaign. [break]



Under this campaign, customers have to collect four crowns of top international football stars like Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Kaka, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard. The winners are selected through a lucky draw at the end of every week.



Apart from the trip to Thailand, individuals can also win prizes like i-pod, Reebok footballs and T- shirts every week.



Pepsi will hold the next lucky draw on July 5.





NIC Foundation´s donation



KATHMANDU, June 28: NIC Foundation, a not-for-profit social organization of NIC Bank, donated Rs 305,391 to Old Age Management and Social Welfare Trust on Sunday.



NIC Foundation made the contribution in recognition of work done by Dil Shobha Shrestha, states a press release issued by the foundation. Shrestha runs an old age home and orphanage at her own residence where she is looking after 27 senior citizens and three orphans.



NIC Foundation has initiated several social works across the country. It has been providing scholarships to 40 female students from underprivileged communities in several schools in Kathmandu, Jhapa, Janakpur, Birgunj, Butwal and Pokhara. Three visually-impaired students who arrived in Kathmandu in search of opportunities have also been supported by the foundation.



The foundation receives 0.5 percent of NIC´s profit annually.





RK Jewelers´ 3rd outlet at City Center



KATHMANDU, June 28: RK Jewelers has opened its third outlet at City Center [shopping mall] in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu on Saturday. A press release Sunday states that the new outlet branch would exclusively deal with diamond goods.



RK Jewelers, which started jewelry trading 22 years ago, by opening an outlet at Bangemudha, had earlier opened its second outlet at Bishal Bazaar. The jewelers have been dealing with gold, silver and diamond goods from both the outlets.



Rajendra Shakya, proprietor, said the third outlet was opened targeting middle and higher class customers. He also announced that customers will be given 25 percent discount on purchase of fancy diamond goods for a week.



The newly opened showroom is showcasing diamond goods imported from different countries including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Italy and Dubai.
