KATHMANDU, Dec 13: 3-Day Souper Bowl Food Donation program that began from Sunday concluded in DAVSKVB School, Jawalakhel. Mother Teresa Social Service Club of DAVSKVB School had taken an initiative for the donation program. It was done to make differences in the lives of the children living in needy homes and underprivileged schools.
Various social workers across the capital and DAV School management committee members participated in the donation program, as per a press statement issued by DAVSKVB School.
The students associated with the Club made a presentation on the status of hunger faced by the children at homes and abroad. The presentation was done in the Indu Hall, before the donation. The data and videos portrayed were pathetic.
DAV School hosts various tournaments
The press statement further stated, following the presentation, the students, teachers, and staffs joined the lines in the school’s main ground to donate the food items they brought from their home.
The food items collected in the school were handed over to Mary Ward School, Jhamsikhel Lalitpur, Mary Ward School Lubhu Lalitpur, Horac Nepal, Patan, Lalitpur, Rotary Club of Pashupati, Kathmandu, Rejina Amiros School, Dhobighat Lalitpur, Navajyoti Center, Baluwatar Kathmandu, Kithsa Nepal, Kathmandu and NRN, Madhu, Kathmandu.
Every two years, the Social Service Club of DAVSKVB organized this type of large scale donation programme. The Souper Bowl food donation program was started by the club since the inception of the school. The club was initiated with the sole motive to inculcate sharing and caring culture in the community.
