Palpa Bhairav furniture industry in Pokhara incurs loss worth Rs 20 millions due to fire

POKHARA, Feb 16: Palpa Bhairav furniture industry in Pokhara has been completely destroyed due to the fire that broke out at around 12 o'clock in the night.

POKHARA, Feb 16: Palpa Bhairav furniture industry in Pokhara has been completely destroyed due to the fire that broke out at around 12 o'clock in the night.


Deepak Kumar Karki, owner of Palpa Bhairav Furniture Industry, informed Republica that two workers were injured in the fire in the industry. Rahul Gurung and Ashish Gurung,  who were living in industry’s residence, were injured in the fire.

Among the injured, Rahul is undergoing treatment at Gandaki Medical College (GMC) and Ashish at Galaxy Hospital. Karki said that the health condition of Rahul is normal but he is being treated in the ICU. He said that the back of the other injured Ashish was burnt and his condition is also said to be normal.


Among the six workers, who slept together at night in the industry, four persons are safe because they managed to escape by crossing the wall after realizing that there was a fire.


Karki informed Republica that all the furniture items in the industry were destroyed due to the fire. He said that due to the high stock, the damage was high. According to him, there has been a loss of around Rs 20 million due to the fire.
