KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized a flag-hoisting ceremony at the embassy on Wednesday on the occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan.
“This year Pakistan Independence Day is being observed in solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their struggle for their right to self-determination,” reads a statement issued by the embassy. Ambassador Mazhar Javed hoisted the flag. Embassy officials and Pakistani community in Kathmandu attended the ceremony, according to the statement.
“President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, in his message said that the Independence Day reinvigorated the spirit of patriotism and the desire to serve the country,” it said. “In his message, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan reassured the people of Kashmir that Pakistan will continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to their just struggle for the right to self-determination.”
