KALAYIA, Nov 16: The production of rice in Bara district this year has slightly increased compared to last season, yielding around Rs 1.21 billion.
The paddy planted across 13,156 hectare area in the district produced 55,257 metric tonnes of rice, mostly of 'Bhadaiya' variety, according to the District Agricultural Development Office (DADO), Bara.
Similarly, the paddy planted across 12,530 hectare area last fiscal year resulted in the production of 52,621 metric tonnes of rice, shared DADO Bara Chief Shiva Ratna Shah.
Around 4.2 metric tonnes of rice was harvested per hectare of land and was sold for Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,300 per quintal in the current fiscal year. RSS
