The locals held the symbolic protest to press the concerned authority to maintain the road.[break]
A section of the Lamosanghu-Giri road has potholes and is muddy making it unsuitable for pedestrians.
The program was held on a call by Youth Association Nepal, Dolakha, the youth wing of ruling CPN-UML. The locals also met the chief of Division Road Office and presented him saplings of paddy.
“The authorities didn’t maintain the road for a long time, so we planted paddy in protest,” Youth Force central member Hira Thokar said. He also said that they would agitate if the road in not repaired within a week.

The road was built in 1977 with a grant from Swiss government. The Division Road Office contracted Bara Construction Company a year ago to repair the road but the company hadn’t completed the work.
