PAC to grill NEA, Mid-Marsyangdi chiefs

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: The Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee has summoned the managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the project manager of the Mid-Marsyangdi Hydropower Project for Sunday to grill them on why the project cost has doubled.



The committee summoned the officials to seek clarifications why the cost amount for the project has shot up, why they spent excessively on work done under variation order and why they failed to complete the construction work on time.



The decision to summon the officials was taken Wednesday on the basis of a report prepared by a sub-committee headed by Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani.
