PAC to grill heads of PEs

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the parliament has decided to summon all the general managers of the public enterprises (PEs), and ministers and secretaries of the ministries concerned, to know why most of such enterprises are incurring huge losses.



The PAC took a decision to this effect on Sunday after consulting with general managers of 19 public enterprises.



"The committee found that many such enterprises are incurring huge losses and decided to summon the people concerned to know about the status of the enterprises," said PAC secretary Som Bahadur Thapa. They have been summoned on Thursday.



He said many such enterprises have not carried auditing for years.
