Over a dozen protestors injured in clash with police

DADELDHURA, March 24: Over a dozen protestors from various political parties, who have been demanding that the Team Hospital, a Christian mission hospital in the district be upgraded to Sub Regional, were injured in a clash with the police on Sunday.



The clash ensued after police intervened when the protestors tried to padlock the District Administration Office. Over a dozen protestors including CPN-UML cadres Ratan Bista, Narabahadur Bista, Dal Bahadur Bista and Surendra Mali were injured in the clash.[break]



The protestors were planning to padlock the District Administration Office, District Health Office, and District Development Office stating that the hospital run by Human Development and Community Service (HDCS) has not been providing its services effectively.



Meanwhile, a joint meeting of the political parties in the district decided to seek apology from the chief district officer. They have also decided to disrupt functioning of the government offices in the district from March 29.
