KATHMANDU, Aug 8: A total of 6,283 people have got PAN (permanent account number) and VAT (value-added tax) registration from the Inland Revenue Office (IRO), Dhulikhel in two months.
The number of people getting VAT and PAN registered has gone unchecked following the government making it mandatory to get VAT and PAN registered for business purpose and individuals.
"The number of people visiting the office for VAT and PAN registration is increasing following the government's this provision. The office is receiving 300 to 500 service seekers seeking PAN and TAX registration on a daily basis," said Damaru Prasad Parajuli, chief tax officer of the IRO.
