Over 41 percent of votes cast across country by 2PM, vote counting to begin from today evening

KATHMANDU, May 13: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that more than 41 percent of the votes have been cast in the local level election by 2PM. According to the commission, the polling which started at 7AM is smoothly underway except for a few sporadic incidents at some places.

KATHMANDU, May 13: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that more than 41 percent of the votes have been cast in the local level election by 2PM. According to the commission, the polling which started at 7AM is smoothly underway except for a few sporadic incidents at some places.


EC has stated that the counting of votes will start from Friday evening after the completion of voting.  Even though it is said that polling will be held till 5PM today, the voters who have entered the polling station by that time will be allowed to participate in the voting.

According to EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel, after the voting is over, the ballot boxes will be safely transported to the office of the Election Officer and the counting of votes will start from today evening itself after an all-party discussion.


The EC has stated that voting is taking place in 21,955 polling centers of the 10,756 polling stations in the country.
