DAILEKH, Dec 22: More than a dozen cadres of the outlawed Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand have reportedly kidnapped Dhir Bahadur Shahi, the chairman of Thatikandh rural municipality in Dailekh district, and his spouse Ila Malla Shahi from their home, the District Police Office said on Sunday.
The couple was abducted from their home on Saturday midnight, according to ward chairperson Nartam Bahadur Budha.
According to Budha, Shahi's wife Ila has been released today morning. The local authorities are still unknown about the whereabouts of the rural municipality chairperson, the ward chairperson said.
Hari Bahadur Oli, the chief of District Police Office said that they have launched a search operation to find out the whereabouts of abducted Shahi.
