KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The newly-elected office-bearers of Nepali Congress students’ wing-- Nepal Students Union (NSU) have pledged to work with a focus on educational issues rather than on political ones.
At a congratulatory program organized by the Reporters' Club Nepal here today, they said the NSU would raise the issue of class education by changing its political course.
Presenting his two-year plan of action, NSU President Nain Singh Mahar said they would put their all-out efforts to make the basic public needs such as education and health free and accessible.
NSU demand now is the education policy that would help maintain ethnic, regional and religious tolerance in the country, Mahar said. "Our focus will be on ethics-based applied education", he added.
Also speaking on the occasion were Vice-President Urmila Thapaliya, general secretary duo, Kundan Raj Kafle and Saroj Kumar Thapa. RSS
