Orphan teenager girl rescued from Gorkha

GORKHA, March 20: A teenager girl, rescued some three days ago, from a house at Chhekampar, a remote village in Gorkha district bordering with Tibet has been handed over to a protection home.

The Child Welfare Council (CWC), Gorkha and the Border Police at Chhekampar, with the help of two other NGOs, had rescued the teen.Sapana Thing, 15, originally from Sarikhet-9, Makawanpur district, has been rescued from the house of one Norge Lama who had brought Thing some five years from the street of Kathmandu following the demise of her father and mom's another marriage.

According to Kamal Shrestha, the Officer at CWC, Gorkha, this half-orphan girl was rescued from the Lama's house as she was deployed as a domestic help.

She was told to work not only at home but also in the field there, shared Officer Shrestha.

Rescued Thing has been handed over to the Shangrila Home at the district where she will be sheltered. RSS
