Tragic fire at scrap godown in Biratnagar claims one life, injures four others

MORANG, Dec 6: A massive fire broke out in a scrap godown located on Saat Ghumti Road in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7 on Wednesday afternoon, leaving at least one killed and four others injured.

MORANG, Dec 6: A massive fire broke out in a scrap godown located on Saat Ghumti Road in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7 on Wednesday afternoon, leaving at least one killed and four others injured.


District Police Office Morang said that the fire in the scrap warehouse in the main market area of Biratnagar is out of control and efforts are being made to contain the fire.

Police said efforts are being made to control the fire with the help of fire brigades from Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Duhabi Municipality, locals and police and army personnel, said DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal, who is also Spokesperson at District Police Office, Morang.


Police said at least one person was killed in the fire.  Deepak Mandal, who was undergoing treatment at a Neuro Hospital following severe burn injuries, breathed his last. Four other injured persons are currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
