Two killed, four injured in fire

MORANG, Dec 7: Two persons died and four others sustained injuries when a scrap godown located at Saatghumti of Biratnagar-7 caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

MORANG, Dec 7: Two persons died and four others sustained injuries when a scrap godown located at Saatghumti of Biratnagar-7 caught fire Wednesday afternoon.


One of the deceased has been identified as Dipak Mandal, 40, of Biratnagar-6 while the identity of second person is yet to be ascertained, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Morang, Ranjan Kumar Dahal. Mandal was owner of the scrap godown.

Similarly, Sushila Paswan, 65 and Rita Sardar, 60, Kishor Paswan, 58, of Biratnagar-6 and Pinky Kamat, 30, of Katahari rural municipality were injured in the incident. Sushila and Rita have been critically injured. All the injured are undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital and Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.


The fire was doused with the help of six fire engines, police personnel and locals, shared Dahal.
