One killed in accident in Chitwan, 15 unjured

CHITWAN, April 12: One person was killed and at least 15 people were injured when a passenger bus hit a toll collection booth at Gondrang in Bharatpur Saturday night.



The bus was traveling to Birgunj from Pokhara.



The deceased was around 25 years and his identity has not been established yet. He was on the bus and was crushed to death after the speeding bus (Ga. 1 Kha 2198) hit the booth at around 11.45 p.m. Saturday, said survivors of the accident.



Seven of the injured are being treated at Chitwan Medical College and eight at Bharatpur Hospital.



The Medical College medics said the condition of three – 11-year old Babbu Ghimire of Birgunj, 62-year old Ashok Kumar Sharma of Ratnanagar in Chitwan and Raju GC of Pokhara-7 – is critical.
