One dies in landslide during excavation

CHITWAN, May 26:  An excavator driver died while expanding the Narayanghat-Mugling road section in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan.

CHITWAN, May 26:  An excavator driver died while expanding the Narayanghat-Mugling road section in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan. The excavator driver died after a landslide buried him this morning at around 9:10 AM while excavating the hill for the construction of bridge number 3 under this road section.  


According to Chitwan police, Mangal Chaudhary, the driver of the excavator (Ba 2 Ka 8651), around 38 years old, of Geruwa Rural Municipality-4, Bardiya, tragically lost his life.

He was taken to Chitwan Medical College for treatment where the doctor declared him dead at 10:22 AM.  


The excavator is fully damaged. Similarly, a truck (Na 6 Kha 1511) coming from Mugling towards Narayanghat was also damaged in the incident, police said. The two-way traffic along the road section has now resumed.
