DHARAN, Sept 16: A COVID-19 patient from Saptari died while undergoing treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences (BPKIHS) on Tuesday night.

As many as 26 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours in Dharan.


The deceased person has been identified as a 35-year old man from Khadak Municipality-3 of Saptari district. He had tested positive for the virus on September 13. 


A total of 28 individuals have succumbed to COVID-19 at BPKIHS as of Wednesday morning.


Officials at the BPKIHS said six Nepal Police personnel and seven Nepal Army personnel are among 26 people tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. So far, 357 individuals have tested positive for this disease.
