One dead, three injured in motorbike-scooter collision in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR, Nov 4: One person of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality ward 2 was killed in an accident on the inner road section near Sanothimi Halesi Mart, Bhaktapur on Thursday.

The accident happened as a scooter (B AA2687) and a motorcycle (BA 02-037 PA 1852) collided with each other. Ayusha Subedi, a 17 years old girl, who was living in Naya Bazar, Kathmandu, died in the accident. Metropolitan Police Circle, Bhaktapur, informed Republica that she died in the evening during treatment at the Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital in Bhaktapur.

It is said that three others were injured in the accident. Scooter rider Pushpa Thapa Magar, 35, a resident of Magargaon, Bhaktapur Madhyapur Thimi Municipality ward 2 was injured. Currently, Magar is being treated at B&B Hospital. Similarly, Pushpa’s son, seven-year-old Samarjan Thapa Magar, who was riding pillion on the scooter, is also being treated at B&B Hospital.

Motorcyclist Karan Dahal, 18, currently living in Balkot, Suryabinayak Municipality ward no 2 has been discharged after general treatment at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital, according to the police. After the accident, all four of them were initially taken to the nearby Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital for treatment and B&B for further treatment.

Police have taken both the vehicles under control and further investigation into the accident is underway.
