One dead, 15 injured in accidents

DHADING, May 11: One died and 15 people were injured in two separate road accidents in Dhading and Ilam on Tuesday.



Police said the assistant to driver of the tipper (Na 2 Kha 8405) ran over him at Bhumesthan-9 along Prithvi Highway in Dhading.



The vehicle was heading towards Kathmandu from Baireni carrying sand.



According to police, identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.



In Ilam, a taxi en route to the Ilam district headquarters from Jamuna met with an accident this morning, injuring 15.



Police said 14 passengers and the taxi driver were injured in the mishap, adding that Kaushila Gurung of Jhapa refugee camp was injured critically in the incident.



All the injured were sent to District Hospital, Ilam, for treatment. Police suspected the mishap might have occurred due to overload.
