KATHMANDU, June 19: Police have arrested a person on the charge of defrauding money by making a false promise to find lucrative employment in Qatar.

The arrested person has been identified as Bisu Lama, 36, a resident of Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhupalchok district. He is currently living in Gokarneshwar Rural Municipality-8 in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Police Range arrested Lama from Boudha, Kathmandu, on charge of defrauding Tara Bahadur Oli with the promise of attractive wages in Qatar. The victim has said that he stayed out of contact since he received money from him.

The arrest was made by the Valley Crime Division based on the accusation of committing a crime in Kathmandu Valley. Information Officer at the Valley Crime Investigation Division SP Rabindra Regmi said that the arrested Lama has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Bhaktapur for further investigation into the case.
