KATHMANDU, Jan 18: An on-duty police head constable was injured seriously when an unidentified group shot at him at Bisanpur Chowk of Khadak Municipality-8 of Saptari district on Wednesday evening.

“The gang which came on three motorcycles shot at Mahendra Yadav while he was on a cordon duty on the Mahendra Highway,” said Inspector Bishnu Pradip Basyal. Basyal added that Yadav who was shot in the back was taken to the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital, and that a search has been launched for the shooters.
