"If government fails to announce election dates within a couple of days, the constitutional obligation of holding elections by January 21, 2018 will not be met. The ruling coalition is not ready for elections and this could ultimately benefit extremists and separatist," UML Secretary Bhim Acharya quoted Oli as saying.

During the meeting, Chairman Oli presented a 10-page-long political dossier on current political situation, organizational activities of the party as well as plans and strategies the party should adopt.

The meeting will resume on Thursday noon and it is set to discuss the political document as well as Mechi-Mahakali National Campaign announced by the party to tackle the Tarai-Madhes issues and the upcoming Free Student Union elections.
