KATHMANDU, May 10: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has accused the police administration of failing to intervene in incidents of physical assaults targeted towards his party cadres in various districts during the local-level election publicity campaigns, and urged it to give security to them.
While launching audio/visual clips that party prepared for the election publicity, the party said the government 'not becoming sensitive towards the rule of law' had created doubt whether the election would be free and impartial. He also urged the Election Commission to legally respond to such activities instead of keeping 'mum' on the matter.
"Efforts are being made to take the country towards a chaos. Violent, unfair, irregular and chaotic activities are being promoted," he said, adding that the CPN-UML wants to move ahead through the peaceful and democratic path and urges all not to take it as its weaknesses."
The party chair took time to claim that the party was competent enough to keep the history of sovereign Nepal intact. RSS
