KATHMANDU, Nov 28: South Asian Games’ security committee has decided to introduce an odd-even rule for vehicular movement in Kathmandu in view of the upcoming mega sports event of the South Asian region which is scheduled to be held from December 1 to 10.
Organizing a press meet in the capital on Thursday, the committee unveiled various rules and programs for traffic management.

According to the odd-even rule, vehicles with odd number plates will be allowed to run in the streets of the valley on December 1, the inaugural day while vehicles with even number plates will ply the Kathmandu roads on the day of SAG concluding on December 10.
Similarly, the Metropolitan Traffic Division (MTD) has also started its preparation for sound traffic management in the valley during the whole period. It has restricted the movement of heavy vehicles along the ring-road.
Issuing a notice on Thursday, MTD has urged one and all to facilitate in traffic management during the mega sports event.
