NVC finds 348 officers absent

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: During a surprise check conducted at different departments by the National Vigilance Centre in the first hours of office time on Monday, as many as 384 employees were found absent.



According to the NVC, of them there were six gazetted first class officers, 65 gazetted second class officers and 152 gazetted third class officers, who were found absent during the surprise check conduct at 10:15 am. [break]



The government officers the NVC visited were- Department of Commerce and Supply, Department of Geo-Information and Documentation, Departments of Transport Management, Department of Domestic and Small Industries, Office of the Company Registrar, Cooperatives Department, Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, Passport Department, Animal Health Directorate, Customs Department, Department of Forest, Department of Health Services, Department of Land Reform and Management, Inland Revenue Department and the Department of Urban Development and Construction.



The officers who had not taken permission for absence have been recommended for action.



Organizing a press conference, the NVC said it had directed the concerned government offices to censure and recommend for departmental action on the absent officers.
