Number of Nepali nationals dying of COVID-19 in foreign countries rises to 284

KATHMANDU, Oct 25: The number of Nepali nationals dying of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in foreign countries has risen to 284 as one more Nepali national succumbed to COVID-19, the Non-resident Nepali Association (NRNA) said on Sunday.

The NRNA, the umbrella organization of Nepali nationals living abroad, stated that a Nepali man working in Saudi Arabia died of the viral disease in the past week.

As of today, the number of Nepali nationals infected with COVID-19 has reached 42,752 in 42 countries, according to the NRNA. Of them, 39,179 have been recovered.

The NRNA said that it has been coordinating with the government of Nepal and Nepali diplomatic missions abroad to rescue stranded Nepali nationals abroad. A total of 120,829 Nepali nationals have been repatriated, the NRNA added.
