NTB forms information center for tourists

KATHMANDU, May 2: In a bid to facilitate information on missing, dead and injured tourists in Nepal, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) formed Tourist Information Coordination Center under Tulsi Prasad Gautam, director general of Department of Tourism.

The centre comprises representatives from NTB, Tourist Police, Department of Immigration, Trekking Agents Association of Nepal, Nepal Mountaineering Association, Nepal Association of Tour and Trekking Agents and Hotel Association Nepal.

The centre will collect information about the present situation of tourists in Nepal and will coordinate with other agencies for rescue as per requirements, a press statement issued by NTB on Saturday reads.

The information of the situation of tourists can be accessed by Inspector Rukesh Tandukar of Tourist Police Unit (Toll Free No: 1144) and Sarad Pradhan of NTB (Cell No: 9851077385), the press statement adds.
