NT receives license for 4G

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepal Telecom (NT) has received a license from Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) to operate fourth generation (4G) mobile service.

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepal Telecom (NT) has received a license from Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) to operate fourth generation (4G) mobile service. 



NTA Chairman Digambar Jha said that the state-owned telecommunication received approval for 4G based on the work plan presented by it.

NT had presented the work plan before the NTA before Dashain for operating 4G services.


“NT needs to bring the service within two months from now,” said Jha.


Currently, NT has been operating 2G and 3G services in GSM mobile on 18,000 MHZ band. It plans to operate 4G services in Kathmandu and Pokhara within two months.
