Five students including Chairmen of Bara and Parsa district chapters of NSU have been staging fast-unto-death at the campus premises since Sunday evening pressing the union´s leadership to recognize their group as official candidates.
Other two groups too have been staging fast-unto-death at the campus putting forth the same demand.
The dispute came to the fore after three different NSU panels filed their candidacies for the elections. All the three panels have tried to prove them as official one. The campus, where over 7,000 students are currently studying, is traditionally a stronghold of the NSU.
Chairman of Bara chapter of NSU, Ramakant Sah, Chairman of Parsa chapter of NSU, Manoj Yadav, members Santosh Gupta, Megha Shahi and Bindeshwor Mandal are in the hunger strike.
Tara Ghimire, Irphan Mansoori, Subhash Sah, Juned Arif and Rakesh Barma led by Nabin Singh group and Nabin Baral, Tej Prakash Chauhan, Sanjay Kushwaha and Indradev Patel from Mukesh Dwebedi are in the hunger strike.
